# Which websites did AI cite on ISO certification?

Our October snapshot shows which websites appeared in answers to selected UK questions about ISO certification.

The Assurance Desk, news. Published 13 October 2026.

Certbetter appeared in the most answers in our ISO certification snapshot, followed by BSI. They were cited in 6 and 5 of the 19 recorded answers to selected UK buyer questions on 10 October 2026 ([The Assurance Desk: AI answers on iso certification on 10 October 2026, measured 10 October 2026 (data file)](https://theassurancedesk.com/data/ai-answers-2026-10-10-iso-certification.json), checked 13 October 2026).

## Which websites appeared most often?

The 19 answers contained 134 recorded links from 80 websites. Certbodies and Hael each appeared in 4 answers. UKAS appeared in 3 ([The Assurance Desk: AI answers on iso certification on 10 October 2026, measured 10 October 2026 (data file)](https://theassurancedesk.com/data/ai-answers-2026-10-10-iso-certification.json), checked 13 October 2026).

The chart counts a website once per answer, even when an answer links to it several times. The counts do not rate the organisation or endorse its services ([The Assurance Desk: AI answers on iso certification on 10 October 2026, measured 10 October 2026 (data file)](https://theassurancedesk.com/data/ai-answers-2026-10-10-iso-certification.json), checked 13 October 2026).

Selected UK buyer questions, 10 October 2026. Each website counts once per answer, out of 19 recorded answers. Equal counts are tied. This is a citation count, not a rating of the organisation.

## Most questions concerned ISO 42001

The set focused on preparing for ISO 42001, finding a certification body, costs and accreditation. It also asked how to check whether an ISO certificate is genuine ([The Assurance Desk: AI answers on iso certification on 10 October 2026, measured 10 October 2026 (data file)](https://theassurancedesk.com/data/ai-answers-2026-10-10-iso-certification.json), checked 13 October 2026).

This is not a broad cyber security sample. The panel has no dedicated questions about ISO 27001, SOC 2, Cyber Essentials or ransomware ([The Assurance Desk: AI answers on iso certification on 10 October 2026, measured 10 October 2026 (data file)](https://theassurancedesk.com/data/ai-answers-2026-10-10-iso-certification.json), checked 13 October 2026).

## How we counted, and what is missing

We recorded answers to 7 selected questions. The services were Gemini 2.5 Flash, Google AI Mode and Google AI Overviews. All are Google services ([The Assurance Desk: AI answers on iso certification on 10 October 2026, measured 10 October 2026 (data file)](https://theassurancedesk.com/data/ai-answers-2026-10-10-iso-certification.json), checked 13 October 2026).

Gemini used a search-enabled API, a software connection. The other services used our search-results collector. Gemini and AI Mode covered every question. AI Overviews coverage was incomplete, so missing records remain unknown ([The Assurance Desk: AI answers on iso certification on 10 October 2026, measured 10 October 2026 (data file)](https://theassurancedesk.com/data/ai-answers-2026-10-10-iso-certification.json), checked 13 October 2026).

Link totals include repeats within answers. Website counts use the address’s host name, with www. removed and subdomains kept separate. UK describes the questions, not a verified human browsing location for the API ([The Assurance Desk: AI answers on iso certification on 10 October 2026, measured 10 October 2026 (data file)](https://theassurancedesk.com/data/ai-answers-2026-10-10-iso-certification.json), checked 13 October 2026).

This single snapshot cannot show a trend, market share or which service gives better answers. It does not assess the accuracy of the answers ([The Assurance Desk: AI answers on iso certification on 10 October 2026, measured 10 October 2026 (data file)](https://theassurancedesk.com/data/ai-answers-2026-10-10-iso-certification.json), checked 13 October 2026).

## Check the certificate behind the answer

UKAS CertCheck lets you verify claims of UKAS accredited certification. It is free and publicly accessible. Its database covers accredited management system certifications ([UKAS, CertCheck](https://www.ukas.com/certcheck/), checked 13 October 2026).

A free account also lets you set alerts for changes in the accredited status of certifications you track ([UKAS, CertCheck](https://www.ukas.com/certcheck/), checked 13 October 2026).

Use the certificate guide below for the next steps. A mention in an AI answer is a starting point for that check.
