Amtivo review

Certification body

A UK certification body with UKAS accreditation for six ISO standards, including ISO/IEC 27001. Its ISO 42001 certification was outside that accreditation when we checked.

Relevant if you want UKAS-accredited ISO 9001, ISO 27001 or ISO 45001 certification, not ISO 42001

What Amtivo offers, and what it publishes

Amtivo's UKAS accreditation covers six standards: ISO 9001, ISO 13485 for medical devices, ISO 14001, ISO 22301, ISO/IEC 27001 and ISO 45001. It also sells ISO 42001 certification for AI management systems, but its UKAS schedule, issued 24 April 2026, does not list that standard. Its ISO 42001 pages do not mention this.

Amtivo does not publish a price. It says costs depend on business size, location and sector, and it gives a fixed-fee quote on request. It does not publish its indemnity cover, named lead auditors or audit case studies.

Amtivo's impartiality policy bars staff from consulting on systems they later certify, and from auditing a client they consulted for in the previous two years. It says it acknowledges complaints within 3 business days and aims to resolve them within 21. Trustpilot showed one review in July 2026, citing a month-long wait; the firm promotes its Feefo rating instead.

Strengths

  • Genuinely UKAS-accredited for six management-system standards including ISO 9001, ISO/IEC 27001, ISO 45001 and the medical-devices standard ISO 13485
  • Published Impartiality Policy that explicitly bars staff from providing consultancy on a system they later certify and excludes recent consultants from that client's audit team for two years
  • Documented complaints/appeals process with stated response timescales (3 business days to acknowledge, 21 business days to resolve), overseen by a named independent Committee to Safeguard Impartiality
  • Long-standing Feefo Platinum Trusted Service Award track record (4.5+/5 maintained for 10 consecutive years), even though its Trustpilot presence is minimal

Things to check

  • Not UKAS-accredited for ISO/IEC 42001 (AI management systems), despite marketing an 'ISO 42001 Certification' service with no clear accreditation-status disclaimer
  • Only a narrow set of six UKAS-accredited management-system standards
  • Almost no independent review history on Trustpilot

Common questions

Is Amtivo's ISO 42001 certification UKAS-accredited?

No. Its UKAS schedule, issued 24 April 2026, lists six standards but not ISO/IEC 42001. Its ISO 42001 pages describe the same audit process as its accredited standards and do not say whether that standard is accredited.

What is Amtivo UKAS-accredited for?

Six standards: ISO 9001, ISO 13485 for medical devices, ISO 14001, ISO 22301, ISO/IEC 27001 and ISO 45001.

Does Amtivo publish its certification prices?

No. It says costs depend on business size, location and sector, and gives a fixed-fee quote on request.

Notes behind each thing to check

  • Not UKAS-accredited for ISO/IEC 42001 (AI management systems), despite marketing an 'ISO 42001 Certification' service with no clear accreditation-status disclaimer (British Assessment Bureau Limited t/a Amtivo's live UKAS Schedule of Accreditation (ref. 8289, Issue No. 039, issued 24 April 2026), fetched and full-text searched directly on 17 July 2026, contains no mention of ISO/IEC 42001 or AIMS; its ISO 42001 marketing pages describe the audit process in the same terms used for its genuinely-accredited standards and only offer a general FAQ definition mentioning 'a UKAS-accredited body' without confirming or denying that status for Amtivo's own service)
  • Only a narrow set of six UKAS-accredited management-system standards (Its live UKAS Schedule of Accreditation (ref. 8289, Issue 039) lists six standards, fewer than DNV, Bureau Veritas and Intertek in this comparison group)
  • Almost no independent review history on Trustpilot (Only one review was found on Amtivo's British Assessment Bureau Trustpilot profile as of 17 July 2026, too thin a sample to independently verify service quality; its stronger Feefo rating is a platform the company itself commissions and promotes)
Six criteria, each scored 1 to 5, with the evidence for each.
CriterionScoreEvidence
Help when things go wrong 3/5 A documented complaints/appeals process exists with stated response timescales, but no named lead auditors or disclosed audit-outcome case studies were found
Qualifications of the people who do the work 3/5 Amtivo holds a genuine but narrower UKAS scope (six standards) than the larger TIC firms in this group, and it is not UKAS-accredited for ISO/IEC 42001 (AIMS) despite marketing that certification directly
What it publishes about fees 2/5 No prices are published, but the FAQ page explains the fee model in general terms (dependent on size, location and sector) rather than staying silent on pricing entirely
Knowledge of your sector 3/5 Amtivo holds a dedicated medical-devices accreditation (ISO 13485) alongside general ISO standards, showing some but not extensive tailored sector programming
Independence from what it sells 5/5 Amtivo Group's published Impartiality Policy explicitly bars personnel from providing consultancy on systems they later certify and excludes any auditor who consulted for a client within the previous two years from that client's audit team
Who carries the risk if the advice is wrong 3/5 A published complaints/appeals process with specific response timescales exists, but no professional indemnity insurance or liability-cap disclosure was found

Sources for Amtivo

  • UKAS accreditation does not currently cover ISO/IEC 42001 (AIMS) (British Assessment Bureau Limited t/a Amtivo's live UKAS Schedule of Accreditation (ref. 8289), Issue No. 039, issued 24 April 2026, lists only ISO 9001, ISO 13485, ISO 14001, ISO 22301, ISO/IEC 27001 and ISO 45001 as accredited scope; a full-text search of the document for '42001', 'AIMS' and 'Artificial Intelligence Management System' returns zero matches, confirmed by direct PDF fetch on 17 July 2026) (ukas.com, checked 17 July 2026)
  • Amtivo markets ISO 42001 certification without stating UKAS accreditation status for it (Amtivo's ISO 42001 page markets certification that 'demonstrates that you have a structured Artificial Intelligence Management System (AIMS) in place' but contains no statement confirming or denying UKAS accreditation for this specific standard, even though the site separately displays UKAS marks for other standards) (amtivo.com, checked 17 July 2026)
  • Companies House registration (British Assessment Bureau Limited, company number 03325955, active, incorporated 28 February 1997 (formerly British Accreditation Bureau Limited, then QA2 Limited), registered office 30 Tower View, Kings Hill, Kent ME19 4UY, SIC code 70229) (Companies House, checked 17 July 2026)
  • Pricing disclosure (No published UK rate card for ISO management-system certification; the site states costs depend on business size, location and sector, with a fixed-fee quotation provided on request rather than published prices) (amtivo.com, checked 17 July 2026)
  • Published impartiality policy explicitly separating consultancy from certification (Amtivo Group's Impartiality Policy (Version 3, POL-IMP-001, signed by Chief Governance Officer Steve Russell) states 'personnel are not authorised to undertake, recommend the use of, or provide consultancy/technical services relating to the design, implementation, or maintenance of management systems' and that auditors who provided consultancy to a client 'in the previous two years will not be selected' for that client's audit team) (info.amtivo.com, checked 17 July 2026)
  • Complaints process with response timescales (Formally acknowledges complaints or disputes in writing within 3 business days and aims to resolve them within 21 business days, overseen by an independent 'Committee to Safeguard Impartiality') (amtivo.com, checked 17 July 2026)
  • ISO 42001 FAQ implies but does not confirm UKAS accreditation for Amtivo's own service (Amtivo's own ISO 42001 page FAQ states 'A certified company is one that has implemented an effective Artificial Intelligence Management System that meets the requirements of ISO 42001 and has been independently audited by a UKAS-accredited body', a general definition that does not clarify whether Amtivo's own ISO 42001 certification currently carries UKAS accreditation) (amtivo.com, checked 17 July 2026)
  • Trustpilot presence is minimal (Only a single review is recorded on Amtivo's British Assessment Bureau Trustpilot profile, describing a month-long wait for a response as 'really bad'; the company instead promotes a Feefo rating of 4.5+/5 maintained for 10 consecutive years) (Trustpilot, checked 17 July 2026)
  • Trustpilot: Only a single review on the British Assessment Bureau Trustpilot profile, describing a month-long wait for a response; the company promotes a separate Feefo rating of 4.5+/5 instead. (Trustpilot, checked 17 July 2026)
