What Aprio offers, and what it publishes

ANAB's public directory lists Aprio, LLP as accredited for five standards, including ISO/IEC 42001 for AI management systems. It signed the auditor's consent on Riverview Bancorp's FY2026 annual report, filed with the US SEC. The wider group says it has 3,400+ staff in 40+ US locations and has operated since 1952.

Aprio does not publish a price, fee range or rate card. It does not publish indemnity cover, named client case studies or a standalone impartiality policy. ANAB's public entry does not show the certificate number or dates; the certificate page asks for an ANAB staff login.

Aprio sells certification under one brand alongside tax, wealth management and technology consulting. It says the advisers who prepare you are separate from the team that audits you. It says it holds FedRAMP, CMMC, PCI QSA and HITRUST assessor status, which we could not check. We could not read the company register of the US state of Georgia.

Strengths

  • Independently confirmed by ANAB's own public directory (not just Aprio's marketing) as an accredited certification body across five management-system standards, including ISO/IEC 42001, the AI management system standard.
  • Lists FedRAMP, CMMC, PCI and HITRUST assessment services alongside SOC 2 and ISO work. These are its own claims; check the relevant accreditation before booking.
  • Publishes a structural separation between its licensed CPA/attest entity (Aprio, LLP) and its consulting entity (Aprio Advisory Group, LLC) under the AICPA Code of Professional Conduct, and states its certification advisors sit apart from its audit teams.
  • Large, long-established firm (operating since 1952, 3,400+ staff, 40+ US locations) with SEC-audit-level PCAOB standing, evidencing scale and regulatory exposure beyond a small boutique assessor.

Things to check

  • Aprio markets one integrated 'top-20 CPA firm' brand spanning SOC/ISO/PCI/FedRAMP/CMMC assessment work alongside tax, wealth management and technology consulting; beyond the AICPA alternative-practice-structure disclosure and one line about advisors being 'separate' from auditors, no published, ISO-17021-style impartiality or conflict-of-interest policy document was found.
  • Ask for the full accreditation certificate, including what it covers and when it expires. We could read the directory entry but not the certificate.
  • We could not read the official registers. Ask for its company details and accountancy licence.

Common questions

Is Aprio's ISO/IEC 42001 accreditation confirmed?

Yes. ANAB's public directory lists Aprio, LLP as accredited for ISO 9001, ISO 22301, ISO/IEC 27001, ISO/IEC 27701 and ISO/IEC 42001. The entry does not show certificate numbers or dates.

Does Aprio publish its fees?

No. We found no prices, fee ranges or fee structure on aprio.com or riskcompliance.aprio.com. You have to contact the firm.

Is Aprio's registration in the US state of Georgia confirmed?

No. The Georgia Secretary of State's register returned an access error when we checked on 20 September 2026. On this page, its legal identity rests on its own website and one US SEC filing.

Are Aprio's FedRAMP, CMMC, PCI QSA and HITRUST claims verified?

No. Aprio states them on its own site. We could not check them against the relevant registers.

Notes behind each thing to check

  • Aprio markets one integrated 'top-20 CPA firm' brand spanning SOC/ISO/PCI/FedRAMP/CMMC assessment work alongside tax, wealth management and technology consulting; beyond the AICPA alternative-practice-structure disclosure and one line about advisors being 'separate' from auditors, no published, ISO-17021-style impartiality or conflict-of-interest policy document was found. (aprio.com/about/ and riskcompliance.aprio.com list attest, tax, wealth management and technology consulting as one firm, with separation described only via the AICPA alternative-practice-structure disclosure, not a standalone impartiality policy.)
  • Ask for the full accreditation certificate, including what it covers and when it expires. We could read the directory entry but not the certificate. (anab.jadian.com/Certificate.mvc (the 'Scope of Accreditation' link from the ANAB directory listing for Aprio-MS-9785) returned an ANAB 'Enterprise Quality Manager' staff sign-in page (HTTP 200) instead of certificate detail, checked 2026-09-20.)
  • We could not read the official registers. Ask for its company details and accountancy licence. (ecorp.sos.ga.gov returned HTTP 403 on direct fetch and returned empty bodies via the Bright Data Web Unlocker fallback on two separate attempts (2026-09-20); ald.nasba.org (redirected from cpaverify.org) also returned HTTP 403.)
Six criteria, each scored 1 to 5, with the evidence for each.
CriterionScoreEvidence
Help when things go wrong 1/5 No published record of certificate suspension or withdrawal action was found; the research shows only its absence, not a track record either way.
Qualifications of the people who do the work 4/5 ANAB's own public directory independently confirms Accredited status scoped precisely to ISO 42001, 27001, 27701, 22301 and 9001.
What it publishes about fees 1/5 No fee schedule, rate card or worked examples were found anywhere; fees disclosure is explicitly marked false in the fact-set.
Knowledge of your sector 2/5 ISO 42001 accreditation is confirmed but only one marketing sentence backs it; no named AI-governance clients, case studies or assessor bios were found.
Independence from what it sells 2/5 No published ISO-17021-style impartiality policy exists; only an AICPA alternative-practice disclosure and one line claiming advisor/auditor separation.
Who carries the risk if the advice is wrong 2/5 LLP structure and an alternative-practice-structure separation are described, but no professional-indemnity-insurance disclosure was found.
