What DNV offers, and what it publishes
UKAS accredits DNV's UK company for eight management-system standards, including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO/IEC 27001 and ISO 45001. The UKAS schedule issued on 30 April 2026 does not include ISO/IEC 42001, the AI management standard. DNV markets 42001 certification on its UK site. DNV's press release says the Dutch body RvA accredits it for that standard.
DNV does not publish a price. Its quote page sends cost questions to a contact form, with no rate card or worked example. It does not publish professional indemnity cover. It does publish a complaints and appeals process with timescales, including 5 working days to acknowledge a complaint.
The UK company that holds the accreditation reported £11.1m turnover and an average of 54 employees for 2024, far smaller than the DNV Group. DNV says it does not combine certification with advisory or design work where that creates a conflict of interest. Its unclaimed Trustpilot profile, under the old DNV GL name, scores 2.1 from 9 reviews.
Strengths
- Genuinely UKAS-accredited for a broad set of core management-system standards including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO/IEC 27001 and ISO 45001 (Schedule 0013, Issue 152, 30 April 2026)
- Published impartiality statement explicitly ruling out combining advisory or design services with certification where this creates a conflict of interest
- Backed by DNV Group's global technical scale and cross-industry expertise (maritime, energy, healthcare, cyber security)
- Documented complaints, appeals and certificate suspension/withdrawal procedure with stated timescales (5 working days to acknowledge a complaint; 21 days to appeal a suspension/withdrawal decision)
Things to check
- Not UKAS-accredited for ISO/IEC 42001 (AI management systems) despite DNV marketing AI management system certification services on its UK website
- The specific UK legal entity holding the UKAS accreditation is far smaller than the globally recognised DNV brand implies
- No published pricing, rate card or worked cost example for certification services
Common questions
Is DNV's ISO 42001 certification accredited by UKAS?
No. The UKAS schedule for DNV Business Assurance UK Limited, issued 30 April 2026, does not include ISO/IEC 42001. DNV says the Dutch Raad voor Accreditatie (RvA) accredits it for that standard.
Does DNV publish its prices?
No. Its quote page asks you to fill in a form for an overview of costs, with no rate card or worked example.
What is DNV's UK company accredited for?
Eight standards on its UKAS schedule issued 30 April 2026: ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO/IEC 20000-1, ISO 22301, ISO/IEC 27001, ISO/IEC 27701, ISO 45001 and ISO 55001.

Notes behind each thing to check
- Not UKAS-accredited for ISO/IEC 42001 (AI management systems) despite DNV marketing AI management system certification services on its UK website (DNV Business Assurance UK Limited's live UKAS Schedule of Accreditation (ref. 0013, Issue No. 152, issued 30 April 2026), fetched and full-text searched directly on 17 July 2026, contains no mention of ISO/IEC 42001 or AIMS; DNV's UK ISO/IEC 42001 certification page markets the service without naming UKAS as the accrediting body for it)
- The specific UK legal entity holding the UKAS accreditation is far smaller than the globally recognised DNV brand implies (DNV Business Assurance UK Limited's own filed accounts for the year to 31 December 2024 show turnover of £11.1m and an average of 54 employees, while the wider DNV Group it trades under reported NOK 35,291m revenue and roughly 15,380 employees globally in 2025)
- No published pricing, rate card or worked cost example for certification services (DNV's request-for-quote page routes all enquiries to a contact form with no published day rates or fee ranges)
| Criterion | Score | Evidence |
|---|---|---|
| Help when things go wrong | DNV publishes a documented complaints, appeals and certificate suspension/withdrawal procedure with specific timescales, but no named lead auditors or disclosed audit-outcome case studies were found | |
| Qualifications of the people who do the work | DNV holds genuinely broad UKAS accreditation across 8 management-system standards, but its UK entity (ref. 0013) is not UKAS-accredited for ISO/IEC 42001 (AIMS), a meaningful gap versus peers on this site that do hold it | |
| What it publishes about fees | No prices, rate card or worked cost examples are published anywhere on DNV's UK or global sites; all cost enquiries route to a contact form | |
| Knowledge of your sector | DNV maintains named, tailored sector programmes for maritime, energy, food and beverage, healthcare and cyber security rather than a purely generic offering | |
| Independence from what it sells | Published public impartiality statement explicitly states DNV does not combine certification/verification with advisory or design services where this would create a conflict of interest | |
| Who carries the risk if the advice is wrong | A published complaints/appeals process with specific timescales exists, but no professional indemnity insurance or liability-cap disclosure was found |
