How to find UKAS accredited ISO 27001 certification bodies

Use the UKAS record to check the body and the standard before choosing who will audit you.

Start with the UKAS directory when looking for an ISO 27001 certification body. UKAS has an accreditation route for that work. A general directory entry is a starting point, so check the body’s current record for the standard you need before booking.

What does UKAS accreditation tell you?

Accreditation checks the technical competence of the body that audits and certifies you. UKAS lists an accreditation route for bodies that certify information security management systems to ISO/IEC 27001.

Keep the jobs separate when asking for a quote. You want to know who will issue the certificate and whether their UKAS record covers the work you are buying.

Accreditation concerns the body doing the certification work.

Which names can you find in the UKAS directory?

The directory includes the certification bodies below. Use the names and numbers to find their records. This table is a set of directory examples, not confirmation that each currently holds the ISO 27001 scope you need.

How do you search the directory?

Search by the organisation’s name or use the type and other filters to narrow the results. Open the matching record and check the standard and scope, meaning the work its accreditation covers. Ask the body to explain anything that does not match the service quoted.

Start with the certification body’s name

UKAS directory search with fields for organisation type, name, customer number, region and country.

The screen shows a search box and filters for organisation type, organisation name, customer number, region and country. The search screen helps you find a record. It does not prove that a body holds accreditation for ISO 27001. Check the record for the standard and scope before choosing a body.
